Q1: What is the difference between ASTM A36 and SS400?
A: ASTM A36 is an American standard with minimum yield strength of 250 MPa (thickness ≤ 200mm). SS400 is a Japanese standard with yield strength of 245 MPa (for thickness ≤ 16mm). Both are widely used in construction, and our plates can be supplied according to either specification.
Q2: Can you cut plates into non-standard shapes (e.g., circles, trapezoids)?
A: Yes, we offer custom cutting using CNC plasma and laser machines. We can cut any shape you provide in a CAD/DXF file. Typical tolerance is ±1mm. Please contact us with your drawing.
Q3: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
A: For standard sizes, MOQ is 5 tons. For custom cutting, MOQ is 1 ton per size/shape. We also accept trial orders for small quantities.
Q4: Do you provide third-party inspection?

A: For standard plates (no cutting), delivery is 15–20 days after deposit. For custom-cut orders, 20–30 days depending on complexity. We ship from Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao, or Ningbo port.
Q6: Are the steel plates suitable for welding? Do they need preheating?
A: Yes, they have excellent weldability. For thicknesses below 25mm, preheating is generally not required. For thicker plates, a nominal preheat of 50–100°C is recommended to avoid cracking. We can provide welding recommendations upon request.
Q7: What surface treatment options do you offer?
A: Standard surface is black (as-rolled). Options include: galvanized (hot-dip), painted with primer, or anti-rust oil coating. For outdoor construction projects, we recommend hot-dip galvanized or painted plates.
