What is ASTM A789 A312
ASTM A312 is a standard for austenitic stainless steel tubes published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). It covers seamless, welded, and cold-worked tubes and is suitable for high-temperature and general corrosive conditions. Common grades include 304 and 316.
ASTM A789 is a general-purpose standard for duplex stainless steel (ferritic + austenitic) tubes, also including seamless and welded tubes, balancing high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.
Both are internationally recognized stainless steel tube specifications; the core difference lies in their material systems: A312 is for pure austenitic steels, while A789 is for duplex steels. What we offer is ASTM A789 and A312 seamless stainless steel pipe.
