GKA435445G Q-Band Dual-Channel Low Noise Block Downconverter (LNB)

 1. Product Description

GKA435445G is a high-performance Q-Band Dual-Channel Low Noise Block Downconverter (LNB) designed for advanced satellite communication and millimeter-wave measurement systems. It integrates two independent receive channels covering the full 43.5–45.5 GHz spectrum, down-converting them simultaneously to a standard 1.66–2.66 GHz IF output.

Featuring a positive frequency conversion architecture, auto-sensing internal/external reference switching, and an industrial-grade wide-temperature design, this unit offers exceptional sensitivity (Noise Temp ≤ 500K) and high gain (≥ 60 dB). It is housed in a compact, shielded aluminum cavity, making it ideal for both fixed ground stations and portable terminals.

1.1 2. Key Features

Dual Segment Coverage: Simultaneous reception of 43.5–44.5 GHz and 44.5–45.5 GHz.

Positive Spectrum Output: RF frequencies map directly to IF frequencies (1.66–2.66 GHz).

High Gain & Low Noise: ≥ 60 dB conversion gain with a maximum noise temperature of 500 K.

Smart Reference Switching: Automatically detects external 10MHz reference (≥ +5 dBm); falls back to internal OCXO if absent.

Wide Voltage Input: Supports +12 VDC to +18 VDC via the IF coaxial cable (PoE capable).

Superior Stability: Gain flatness ≤ 2.0 dB p-p; operating temperature range -40°C to +75°C.

Standard Interfaces: BJ400 (WR22) waveguide input and N-Type (50Ω) IF output.

1.3 4. Functional Description

1.3.1 4.1 Reference Clock Logic

The GKA435445G features a seamless reference clock management system:

External Priority: Upon power-up, the unit monitors the IF port for a 10MHz signal. If a valid signal (≥ +5 dBm) is detected, the unit locks to the external reference immediately.

Internal Fallback: If no external signal is present, the unit automatically switches to the internal high-stability oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) to ensure continuous operation.

Real-time Detection: The unit continuously monitors the reference signal during operation.

1.3.2 4.2 Power Supply

The device utilizes a single DC power input through the IF output connector. A regulated +12V to +18V DC source is required.

1.4 5. Application Scenarios

Q-Band VSAT Ground Stations: High-throughput satellite communications.

Radio Astronomy & Remote Sensing: Reception of weak cosmic microwave signals.

Millimeter-Wave Test Systems: Front-end downconversion for spectrum analyzers.

5G/6G Backhaul: Point-to-point high-frequency link receivers.

Portable Terminals: Compact and robust design suitable for field deployment.

 1.5 6. Outline Drawing & Interface Definition

(Note: Insert mechanical drawing here)
