The Bentley 3500 series is a mechanical protection monitoring system mainly used for monitoring and protecting parameters such as vibration, displacement, and temperature of large rotating machinery (such as steam turbines and compressors). The system adopts a rack mounted modular design, and users can flexibly configure modules such as power supply, monitors, communication, and relays according to their needs.
What are the commonly used modules
The Bentley 3500 system consists of multiple functional modules, with different models corresponding to different purposes. When selecting, specific functional requirements should be clearly defined:
Power supply and rack module
3500/15 power module: provides power support for the system, supports AC or DC input, some models come with safety certification, suitable for hazardous environments.
3500/05 Rack: The physical foundation of the system, used for installing other modules, with a standard depth of 349mm
Monitoring and input module
3500/25 Keyphasor Module: Used to receive shaft key signals, provide speed and phase measurements, and support redundant configurations.
3500/60 temperature module: processes thermocouple (TC) or resistance temperature detector (RTD) signals for monitoring exhaust temperature, etc.
3500/42/72M monitoring module: used for monitoring and protecting analog signals such as vibration and displacement, partially supporting transient data acquisition.
Communication and Control Module
3500/92 Communication Gateway: Supports protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet to achieve data communication with upper level systems such as DCS and PLC.
3500/32/34 Relay Module: Provides alarm output contacts, programmable logic voting, for driving shutdown or alarm circuits.
3500/20/22M interface module: Rack interface or transient data interface, is a key node for system communication and data acquisition.
How to choose the appropriate model
Different industrial scenarios have different requirements for power supply and environment. When selecting, it is important to pay attention to the following three points:
Matching of power supply environment
Conventional workshops can choose universal AC voltage models (such as 3500/15-05-00-00), supporting 85 to 264 Vac.
For hybrid power supply or DC dominated scenarios (such as power converter stations), models that support high-voltage DC or dual voltage adaptation should be selected (such as 3500/15-05-06-00).
Security certification requirements
In areas with flammable and explosive gases such as petrochemicals and coal mines, it is necessary to choose models with CSA/NRTL/C or ATEX/IECEx certification to ensure compliance with hazardous area usage standards.
Basic models without special certification can be selected for ordinary industrial environments, with relatively lower costs.
Function expansion and compatibility
When monitoring vibration phase, it should be used in conjunction with the 3500/25 key phase module and the 3500/42M.
If you need to access the entire factory automation system, it is recommended to configure a 3500/92 communication gateway to break through data silos.
