**Tips for Applying Potted Solid Gel Polish (A Must-Read for Beginners):**
1. **Pair with a Quality Nail Brush:** Use a high-quality nail art brush designed for gel application.
2. **Prime Your Brush:** Lubricate the brush bristles with a clear gel (such as a mixing gel or clear builder gel) before picking up color; this will effectively minimize visible brush strokes during application.
3. **Handling Light/White Shades:** White and light-colored gels are generally the most difficult shades to apply evenly. If your first coat isn't perfect, don't fret—simply cure it under the lamp, then apply a second coat. Or even a third. If you find that the color remains translucent after four or five coats, it likely means you aren't picking up enough product on your brush.
4. **Clean Your Brush Between Colors:** If you are using a single brush for multiple colors, you *must* clean it thoroughly with a brush cleaner, wipe the bristles dry, and re-prime it with clear gel before switching shades. (If you own multiple brushes, feel free to skip this step and simply dedicate a specific brush to each color.)
5. **Practice Makes Perfect:** Beginners working with potted gels are strongly advised to practice applying the color on nail tips (practice nails) *before* attempting to apply it to your natural nails. Combining inexperience, the difficulty of light-colored gels, application on natural nails, common procedural errors, and the challenge of painting your own dominant hand (e.g., using your left hand to paint your right)—it’s essentially "Hard Mode." Beginners may find it easier to start with bottled gel polishes instead. Regardless of the product type, always ensure proper nail prep is completed beforehand: a smooth, buffed nail surface, an evenly applied base coat, etc.
6. **Allow for Self-Leveling:** After applying each coat of color, allow the nail to rest briefly (a few seconds) so the gel can naturally self-level into a smooth surface before curing it under the lamp.
