Steel Sheet Pile - Product Description
1. Product Overview
Steel sheet pile is a hot-rolled or cold-formed section steel with interlocking clutches at edges. It can be connected mutually to form continuous and tight retaining walls for soil and water. It is widely used in temporary and permanent retaining projects, featuring high strength, excellent water tightness, reusable performance and high construction efficiency.
2. Production Process & Classification
2.1 By Production Process
Hot-rolled Steel Sheet Pile (Mainstream)Manufactured by high-temperature rolling. It features precise dimensions, well-sealed clutches and superior mechanical properties, suitable for heavy-load and deep-water projects.
Cold-formed Steel Sheet Pile (Economical Type)Formed by cold bending of thin steel strips. It offers flexible customized lengths and lower cost, while with relatively weaker clutch tightness and anti-tearing performance. It is mainly applied to shallow foundation pits and temporary works.
2.2 By Cross-section Shape
U-type (PU, Most Widely Used)High lateral stiffness and bending resistance with tight interlocks. Ideal for wharves, deep foundation pits and cofferdams. Typical models: SP-III, SP-IV, 600×210 series.
Z-type (PZ)Large section modulus and good penetration performance. Applied to ultra-deep foundation pits, quay walls and large water conservancy projects. Typical models: Z160, Z180, 700×320 series.
Straight-type (PI)Flat structure, easy for driving and good water resistance, but low bending stiffness. Suitable for shallow support, small cofferdams and temporary retaining walls.

3.1 Common Materials (Standard: GB/T 20933-2021)
Q235B: Yield strength 235MPa, general grade for conventional projects with high cost performance.
Q295P / Q345P: Yield strength 295MPa / 345MPa, high-strength grade for deep foundation pits and heavy-load conditions.
Q420P: Ultra-high strength grade, adopted for large water conservancy projects and port terminals.

7. Installation & Storage
7.1 Installation Guidelines
Conduct setting out and positioning. Use double theodolites to monitor verticality, with deviation controlled within 1/150.
Clean clutches thoroughly and apply grease or water stop agent to ensure smooth connection and good water tightness.
Drive piles symmetrically from the middle to both sides to avoid cumulative deviation.
Install steel bracings or anchor cables for deep foundation pits to control deformation and displacement.
7.2 Storage Requirements
Store on flat and dry ground, keep away from water ponding and corrosion.
Stack in layers with each layer height no more than 1.5m to prevent deformation and clutch damage.
Cover with tarpaulin for long-term storage, and regularly inspect anti-rust condition and clutch integrity.
8. Quality Assurance
Material: Material test certificates including chemical composition and mechanical property reports are provided.
Dimension: Dimensional tolerance complies with GB/T 20933-2021. Clutch clearance ≤ 2mm, straightness ≤ 1/1000.
Surface: Free from cracks, severe rust and deformation; clutches are smooth and burr-free.
