65Mn Q420B S355N Hot Rolled Carbon Steel Sheet
Product Spotlights
Hot-rolled steel plate is produced by heating steel slabs to high temperatures and then rolling them through roughing and finishing mills. Common steel grades include Q235B, Q355B, SS400, S235JR, and A36. Two terms frequently used by customers are "thickness tolerance" and "flatness", which directly affect the material's workability and final product quality.
Hot-rolled steel plates offer high strength and good toughness, and are widely used in building structures, machinery manufacturing, truck frames, bridges, ships, and pressure vessels. For example, Q235B is commonly used for general structural parts and welded components due to its ease of processing and moderate cost; Q355B and SS400 are often selected for medium-load structures such as factory frames and construction machinery; A36 is very common in American standard engineering projects.
In practical applications, customers often pay attention to whether the thickness tolerance of the steel plate is uniform, as this directly affects subsequent cutting, bending, and welding. At the same time, flatness is another important indicator of steel plate quality—poor flatness can lead to processing errors or even scrap. For instance, if the flatness of SS400 does not meet the standard, it may cause misalignment issues on automated welding lines.
Finally, a common concern among customers is: "Can the thickness tolerance and flatness of this batch of hot-rolled steel plates meet our processing requirements?"
