Pultruded ladder-type glass cable trays are made of untwisted glass fibers and composite fibers with resins that can withstand various climates and corrosion. According to different usage scenarios and a certain ratio, they are continuously formed mechanically at a certain temperature. Not only is it more economical than hand lay-up and molding, but also the production efficiency is higher. Especially, the size can be selected at will, and the product quality can be more effectively guaranteed. Therefore, the application of pultruded glass cable trays to replace iron trays is an inevitable trend in the future.

The pultruded fiberglass cable trays produced by our company adopt the relatively advanced pultruded fiberglass process at home and abroad and are produced continuously by machinery. Therefore, they not only have all the advantages of the trays produced by domestic counterparts, but also have stable product dimensions and can be arbitrarily selected. The length can exceed 8 meters, with higher strength, stiffness and corrosion resistance.

Installation specifications for ladder-type fiberglass cable trays

1  The general layout of ladder-type fiberglass cable trays should be designed to achieve the shortest distance, be economically reasonable, ensure safe operation, and meet the requirements of construction, installation, maintenance and cable laying.

2  Ladder-type fiberglass cable trays should have sufficient stiffness and strength to provide reliable support for cables.

3  After cable laying, the deflection of the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray should not be greater than 1/200 of the span of the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray. When the span of the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is ≥6000mm, its deflection should not be greater than 1/150 of the span of the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray.

4  Ladder-type fiberglass cable trays should be installed on buildings and structures (such as walls, columns, beams, floors, etc.) as much as possible and cooperate closely with the civil engineering professional.

5  When the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is installed on the same rack as the process pipe rack, the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray should be arranged on one side of the pipe rack.

6  When the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is installed in parallel with various pipelines, the clear distance should meet the following requirements:

6.1 When the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is installed in parallel with general process pipelines (such as compressed air pipelines, etc.), the distance should be no less than 400mm.

6.2 When the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is installed in parallel with pipelines carrying corrosive liquids, the distance should be no less than 500mm.

6.3 The ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is not suitable for parallel installation below pipelines carrying corrosive liquids or above pipelines carrying corrosive gases. When it cannot be avoided, the distance should be no less than 500mm, and an anti-corrosion partition should be used to separate them.

6.4   When the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray is installed in parallel with the thermal pipeline, the distance should be no less than 500mm when the thermal pipeline has an insulation layer and no less than 1000mm when there is no insulation layer.

6.5    The stepped fiberglass cable tray should not be installed in parallel above the thermal pipeline. When it is unavoidable to install it in parallel above the thermal pipeline, the distance should be no less than 1000mm, and effective heat insulation measures should be taken between them.

  7. When the stepped fiberglass cable tray crosses various pipelines, the clear distance should meet the following requirements:

7.1   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray crosses general process pipelines, the distance should be no less than 300mm.

7.2   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray crosses below the pipeline with corrosive liquid or above the pipeline with corrosive gas, the distance should be no less than 500mm, and the stepped fiberglass cable tray should be protected with an anti - corrosion cover at the crossing. The length of the cover should be no less than d + 2000mm (d is the outer diameter of the pipeline).

7.3   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray crosses the thermal pipeline, if the thermal pipeline has an insulation layer, the distance should be no less than 500mm; if there is no insulation layer, the distance should be no less than 1000mm. And the stepped fiberglass cable tray should be protected with a heat insulation board (such as asbestos board) at the crossing. The length of the heat insulation board should be no less than d + 2000mm. (d is the outer diameter of the insulation layer of the thermal pipeline)

  8. When the stepped fiberglass cable tray is installed through the wall, a sealing device should be used according to the environmental conditions:

8.1   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray passes through the wall from a normal environment to a fire - proof and explosion - proof environment, a corresponding sealing device should be installed on the wall.

8.2   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray passes through the wall from indoors to outdoors, rain - proof measures should be taken on the outside of the wall.

8.3   When the stepped fiberglass cable tray is installed through the wall from indoors to a higher place outdoors, the stepped fiberglass cable tray should first be extended downward at an appropriate distance and then erected upward to prevent rainwater from flowing into the room along the stepped fiberglass cable tray.

8.4  When the stepped fiberglass cable tray passes through the expansion and settlement joint, the cable tray should be disconnected, and the disconnection distance is preferably about 100mm.

9   When two groups of cable trays are installed on the same cross - beam, the clear distance between the two groups of cable trays should be no less than 50mm.

10  When the stepped fiberglass cable trays for laying cables of 10kV and above are installed in multiple layers, the layer spacing is generally no less than 300mm.

  11. The distance from the stepped fiberglass cable tray to the bottom of the floor, beam or other obstacles should be no less than 300mm.

  12. Under normal circumstances, the distance between the brackets supporting the cable tray is preferably about 1.5 - 3, and it should be verified according to the specific situation.

  13. When the stepped fiberglass cable tray is installed horizontally, the joint of the direct plate should not be placed at 1/2 of the span or on the support point.

  14. The cantilever section that appears during the installation of the ladder-type fiberglass cable tray generally shall not exceed 1000mm.

  15. The ladder-type fiberglass cable tray should not be used as a pedestrian passageway.
