Boiler Plate Product Detailed Description

Boiler Plate is a special steel plate used for manufacturing high-temperature and high-pressure pressure-bearing components such as boiler drums, pressure vessels and superheaters. It features high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, good toughness and excellent weldability. It is manufactured in accordance with the national standard GB 713-2014, and widely applied in electric power, chemical industry, energy and other fields.

1. Implementation Standards and Classification

  • National Standard: GB 713-2014 (Steel Plates for Boilers and Pressure Vessels).

  • Common Grades (Old and New Comparison):

    • Carbon Steel: Q245R (Original 20G), Q345R (Original 16MnG), Q370R.

    • Low Alloy Heat-resistant Steel: 15CrMoR, 12Cr1MoVR, 13MnNiMoR, 18MnMoNbR.

  • International Standards: European Standard EN 10028 (P265GH, P355GH), American Standard ASME (SA516, SA387), Japanese Standard JIS (SB410).

5. Core Performance Characteristics

  1. High High-temperature Strength: Maintain stable creep strength and lasting strength under long-term service at 450℃~550℃, not easy to deform and crack.

  2. Excellent Toughness and Plasticity: Outstanding low-temperature impact toughness (-20℃~-40℃) and high elongation, suitable for cold working such as plate rolling and stamping.

  3. Aging Resistance and Corrosion Resistance: The toughness will not decrease significantly after cold processing or long-term service, with strong resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and sulfide corrosion.

  4. Superior Weldability: Low carbon equivalent and low crack sensitivity, suitable for various welding processes such as arc welding and submerged arc welding.

6. Production Process & Delivery Condition

  • Smelting: Electric furnace + LF/VD refining with high purity (S≤0.010%, P≤0.025%).

  • Rolling: Hot rolling, Thermo-Mechanical Control Process (TMCP) to refine grain and improve strength and toughness.

  • Heat Treatment: Normalizing (N), Tempering (T), Normalizing + Tempering (N+T) to eliminate internal stress and stabilize structure.

  • Surface Treatment: Derusting and anti-rust painting; surface quality meets national Class B standard, free of cracks, laminations, heavy scale and other defects.

7. Application Scope

  • Power Boilers: Boiler drum, header, tube sheet of superheater, support plate of main steam pipeline.

  • Pressure Vessels: Hydrogenation reactor, heat exchanger, storage tank, spherical tank.

  • Industrial Boilers: Medium and low pressure boiler steam drum, water wall, economizer.

  • Others: Nuclear power equipment, chemical reactor, high-temperature pipeline and other pressure-bearing parts.

8. Quality Inspection

  • Nondestructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing (UT) complying with GB/T 2970, qualified for Grade I/II to ensure no internal defects.

  • Mechanical Test: Tensile test, impact test and bending test with batch sampling to guarantee qualified performance.

  • Component Analysis: Spectrum analysis to ensure chemical composition conforms to standards with controllable impurity content.

9. Packaging & Delivery

  • Packaging: Firmly bundled with surface protection; marked with specification, grade, heat number and inspection stamp.
