Monocalcium phosphate is used as an animal or bird feed additive. This feed additive supplements the feed with phosphorus and calcium that are very important for skeletal development and formation of strong bones as well as normal functioning of energy, protein metabolism, neural, immunity and reproduction systems. This kind of mineral feed additive is especially beneficial for herbivorous animals.

It reacts with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to produce carbon dioxide, making the dough fluffy and soft, and improving taste and texture.
Calcium nutrition fortifier: As a high-quality source of calcium, it is used in infant formula, milk substitutes, cereal products, and beverages to supplement the essential mineral calcium for the human body.
Fermentation promoter: In brewing and bread making, it can serve as yeast food, providing phosphorus nutrition to yeast, thereby improving fermentation ability and saccharification efficiency, enhancing the flavor of the final product.
Quality improver: In meat products, it acts as a tissue improver, enhancing water retention and texture; in jam and jelly production, it serves as a gelling agent due to its interaction with pectin.

Similar to dicalcium phosphate, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate is mainly used in feed and agriculture for nutritional supplementation:
Feed additive: In livestock, poultry, and aquaculture (especially fish) feed, it is an efficient mineral supplement, providing animals with easily absorbable phosphorus and calcium, promoting growth and bone development.
Liquid fertilizer: In agriculture, it can be used as a fertilizer, directly supplying phosphorus and calcium nutrients to plants.
