1. Product Definition
Deformed Steel Bar (Hot Rolled Ribbed Steel Bar) is round in cross-section with two longitudinal ribs and evenly distributed transverse ribs (mainly crescent-shaped). It is widely used in reinforced concrete structures, featuring strong bonding force with concrete and excellent coordinated stress-bearing performance.
2. Implementation Standard
National Standard: GB 1499.2-2024 (Mandatory implementation on September 25, 2024)
Strength Grade: HRB400 (Grade 3 Steel, Mainstream)、HRB400E (Seismic Resistant)、HRB500 (High Strength); The old type HRB335 is gradually phased out.

Key for Seismic Grade (E): Strength-yield ratio ≥1.25, Over-yield ratio ≤1.35; Energy absorption and anti-brittle fracture under earthquake conditions.
6. Production Process
Long Process (Mainstream): Iron ore & coke → Blast furnace ironmaking → Converter steelmaking → Continuous casting billet → Hot rolling (1000–1200℃) → Cooling → Fixed-length cutting → Inspection & Packing
Short Process: Scrap steel → Electric furnace steelmaking → Continuous casting → Rolling (Environment-friendly, short production cycle)
Product Form:
Straight Bar: Φ12–40mm, fixed length 9m/12m, bundled per 2–3 tons.
Coiled Ribbed Bar: Φ6–12mm, coil weight 1.5–2.5 tons, used for stirrups and distribution reinforcement.
7. Core Characteristics
High Strength: Yield strength ≥400MPa, material saving and cost reduction.
Strong Concrete Bond: Rib design prevents sliding and ensures coordinated stress bearing.
Seismic Toughness: HRB400E meets seismic standard, not easy to break in earthquake.
Good Weldability: Applicable for flash butt welding and arc welding, convenient construction.

8. Application Scope
Building Construction: Frame beams & columns (Φ16–25mm HRB400E), floor slab & shear wall (Φ8–14mm), foundation engineering (Above Φ25mm).
Infrastructure: Bridge pier & box girder, tunnel lining, highway guardrail, port & wharf.
Industry: Factory beam & column, equipment foundation, large structural buildings.
9. Packaging & Delivery
Packaging: Firmly bundled straight bars; coiled bars with moisture-proof packaging. Each bundle attached with label marked with steel grade, specification, heat batch number, production date and execution standard.
Delivery Time: 5–7 working days for conventional sizes.
Quality Document: Official mill certificate attached with goods, including chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat batch number and inspection report.
10. Quality Inspection
Appearance Inspection: No surface crack, scar or fold; clear ribs and qualified dimension.
Dimension Inspection: Measure inner diameter and rib height by caliper; weight deviation complies with GB 1499.2-2024.
Mechanical Test: Tensile test (Yield / Tensile / Elongation), bending test (180° bending without crack).
Composition Test: Spectral analysis of C/Si/Mn/P/S to meet national standard.
11. Storage & Transportation
Storage: Store in dry and ventilated warehouse, pad height over 30cm for moisture proof; classified stacking with clear marking.
Transportation: By truck, train or sea vessel; fix bundled straight bars to avoid deformation, cover coiled bars for moisture protection.
