Color steel coil PPGI and PPGL are pre-coated galvanized steel coils,
Pre-painted steel coil, also known as color-coated steel coil, is produced by using hot-dip galvanized steel coil, Galvalume steel coil, or cold-rolled steel coil as the substrate. After surface degreasing and chemical conversion treatment, one or more layers of organic coatings are continuously roll-coated and baked. Common substrate materials include DX51D, DX52D, SGH400, etc.
In terms of corrosion resistance, the zinc coating weight on the substrate is typically 40–275 g/m² (both sides total), corresponding to a single-side thickness of approximately 6–42 μm, providing basic rust protection. The paint film thickness for the topcoat and backcoat is generally as follows:topcoat 15–25 μm and backcoat 5–10 μm . Common topcoat types include polyester, silicon-modified polyester, high-durability polyester, and polyvinylidene fluoride, allowing for different levels of weather resistance based on the application environment.
In terms of applications, pre-painted steel coil is widely used in the construction industry for roofing and wall systems of industrial plants, warehouses, gymnasiums, airport terminals, and large shopping malls. It is also commonly used in light steel structure buildings, cold storage panels, cleanroom panels, highway guardrails, grain silos, and automotive paint booths. In the home appliance sector, it is used for refrigerator side panels, washing machine front panels, and microwave oven housings. In office furniture, it is used for filing cabinets and desk panels. With its rich color options, convenient installation, corrosion resistance, and long service life, pre-painted steel coil is a high-end steel product in the fields of construction and industrial decoration.
