GE IS420ESWBH2A is an unmanaged industrial Ethernet (IONet) switch equipped with 16 electrical ports and 2 optical ports. It supports dual redundant power supplies, wide-temperature operation and high anti-interference capability. Mounting Position

DIN‑rail mounted for use in standard industrial control cabinets. The front of the module is equipped with 16 RJ45 electrical ports, 2 LC optical ports and LED status indicators. Dual power input terminals are located on the side. The unit features an all-metal housing with vented heat dissipation to enhance anti-interference and thermal performance.

System Architecture

Integrated into the Mark VIe control network chain:Primary / Standby Mark VIe controllers → IS420ESWBH2A switch → Local I/O racks / Remote RIO drops / HMI / SCADA systems

Local devices are connected via electrical ports, and remote drops are extended via optical ports. Dual redundant power supplies ensure high availability of the link, forming a real-time control communication closed loop of Controller – Switch – I/O.

  • The module must be mounted on a standard DIN rail and securely fastened to avoid poor contact caused by vibration.

  • Use only dual redundant 24/28VDC power supplies. Verify polarity before wiring; overvoltage or reverse connection will damage the unit.

  • Use shielded twisted-pair cables for electrical ports with single-segment length ≤100m. Use 62.5/125μm multi-mode fiber for optical ports, with clean, dust-free LC connectors.

  • Installation and wiring must be performed with power disconnected. Use an ESD wristband to prevent electrostatic damage to chips.

  • Signal isolators and surge protectors must be installed in high-interference areas (near inverters, high-voltage cabinets), with proper earthing of the control cabinet.
