2-Drawer Steel Filing Cabinet – Narrow Footprint, 70.9"H | Records Filing for Office & Clinic | Lockable, Low MOQ
The Problem Nobody Talks About
Small offices don't have a document problem. They have a "where do I put this" problem.
When your workspace is 200 square feet instead of 2,000, you can't dedicate an entire wall to filing. But you still have contracts, client records, invoices, and onboarding paperwork. It has to go somewhere. And "somewhere" can't be a pile on the desk that the cleaning crew moved three times this week.
This cabinet exists for that exact situation.
Built for Tight Spaces
At 70.9 inches tall, this cabinet uses the one dimension you have plenty of: vertical space. The width is 33.5 inches. The depth is 15.4 inches. Put it against a wall, next to a desk, in a corner. It takes up less floor space than a standard office chair.
Two drawers sit below the main frame, each built to hold standard A4 and letter-size hanging file frames. Tab dividers fit the same way they do in any professional filing system. Each drawer has a label holder molded into the steel—not a sticky label that falls off after six months.
The lock on each drawer is key-operated. Both drawers share a key, but the lock mechanism is independent from anything else in the office. You control who has access. That's the practical detail most people think about after they buy something cheaper and realize every drawer opens with the same key.
Where It Actually Goes
This cabinet isn't built for the large law firm with a dedicated records room. It's built for:
The dental practice with three treatment rooms and one shared office. Patient records have to be accessible to the front desk during hours and locked after. The narrow footprint means it fits next to the printer without blocking the hallway.
The insurance brokerage where two agents share a small suite. Separate filing for each agent's book of business, controlled access, no digging through someone else's client folders.
The accounting firm that's grown past the shoebox system but hasn't grown into a full records room. Client files, tax documentation, audit records—organized by agent, locked when needed.
The home-based business that needs to look professional when a client visits. A clean cabinet with locked drawers sends a different message than a stack of folders on a bookshelf.
The Details That Show Up Later
The frame is cold-rolled steel with a powder-coated finish. Not because marketing says to write that, but because powder coating doesn't chip the way paint does, and cold-rolled steel doesn't warp the way thinner material does after a few years of loaded drawers.
The drawer runners are full-extension. When you're pulling a file from the back, you don't have to guess whether it's going to slide out halfway or tip. It comes all the way out.
The door hinges have contact cushions. In a small office, you notice noise. Contact cushions mean the cabinet closes quietly instead of thudding every time.
What You Can Change
Standard finish is light gray. If your office has a specific color scheme, we can match it. If you need your company name or logo on the cabinet, we can do that—silk-screen on the frame or metal badge mounted on the door.
The locking configuration can be adjusted if you need a master key system or different access protocols for different staff levels.
If you want different drawer configurations—more drawers, fewer, or different interior setups—that's configurable too.
The Questions That Come Up
"What size files does it hold?" A4 and letter-size. Standard hanging file frames fit directly into the drawer rails.
"How wide is it exactly?" 33.5 inches wide, 15.4 inches deep, 70.9 inches tall. It fits through a standard 36-inch doorway when the drawers are removed for transport.
"Can we get a different color?" Yes. Send us a color reference—Pantone, RAL, or even a photo—and we'll match it.
"What's the minimum order?" Standard MOQ is 50 units. We negotiate for smaller trial orders from first-time buyers. Tell us what you need and we'll work it out.
"How long until it ships?" 25-30 days for standard orders. 35-45 days for custom colors or configurations.
"Does it come assembled?" Ships with drawers and doors removed from the frame. Reassembly takes about 20 minutes.
