A hydraulic cylinder is a hydraulic actuator that converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and performs linear reciprocating motion (or oscillating motion). It has a simple structure and reliable operation. When used to achieve reciprocating motion, it can eliminate the need for a speed reduction device, and there is no transmission clearance, and the motion is smooth. Therefore, it is widely used in the hydraulic systems of various machines. The output force of a hydraulic cylinder is directly proportional to the effective area of the piston and the pressure difference between its two sides; a hydraulic cylinder is basically composed of a cylinder barrel and a cylinder head, a piston and a piston rod, a sealing device, a buffer device, and an exhaust device. The buffer device and the exhaust device depend on the specific application, while the other devices are essential.
The structural forms of hydraulic cylinders are diverse, and there are also various classification methods: according to the movement mode, they can be divided into linear reciprocating and rotary oscillating types; according to the action of hydraulic pressure, they can be divided into single-acting and double-acting types; according to the structural form, they can be divided into piston, plunger, multi-stage telescopic sleeve, rack and pinion types, etc.; according to the installation form, they can be divided into tie rod, earring, foot, hinge shaft, etc.; according to the pressure level, they can be divided into 16Mpa, 25Mpa, 31.5Mpa, etc.
