ASTM/EN Standard Regular Spangle hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Sheet thickness: 0.12mm to 8.0mm Wide Stock. Galvanized steel sheet specifications and dimensions: Thickness range 0.1mm-12.0mm, common thicknesses are 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 5.0mm. The home appliance industry mostly purchases 0.3mm-1.0mm thick cold-rolled hot-dip galvanized steel sheets for the production of refrigerator and air conditioner casings; the steel structure industry mainly uses 2.0mm-5.0mm thick hot-rolled hot-dip galvanized steel sheets for factory construction. Widths are mainly 1000mm, 1220mm, 1500mm, and 1800mm, and lengths can be customized according to order requirements, with standard lengths being 2000mm, 2440mm, and 3000mm.
Galvanized steel sheet is made by immersing cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel sheet in molten zinc, forming a zinc-iron alloy coating on the surface. It is mainly used for structural and decorative components requiring corrosion resistance. Standards for galvanized steel sheet specify that the coating weight must be determined based on the application scenario. For general corrosion protection, the coating weight should not be less than 120g/m², while for highly corrosive environments such as marine climates, the coating weight should not be less than 275g/m².
The base material for galvanized steel sheet is mostly cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel sheet. Cold-rolled base material has a thickness range of 0.2mm-4.0mm, high surface flatness, and can be used for appliance casings, decorative panels, etc. Hot-rolled base material has a thickness of 2.0mm-12.0mm, high strength, and is suitable for load-bearing applications such as steel structures and railings.
The coating of galvanized steel sheet consists of a pure zinc layer, a zinc-iron alloy layer, and a transition layer from the outside to the inside. The pure zinc layer accounts for 60%-70% of the total coating thickness and provides the main anti-corrosion capability. The zinc-iron alloy layer accounts for 20%-30% of the thickness and enhances the adhesion between the coating and the substrate, so that the coating does not peel off during long-term use.
