Oh, talking about finding a processing factory, it's really... a bitter experience.
The year before last, which should be 2022, I took an urgent order in Chang'an to make the shells of that kind of equipment, sheet metal parts. The quantity was neither large nor small, about 2000 sets. After sending the drawings, the original supplier suddenly let me down, saying that the machine was broken and couldn't be repaired, and asked me to figure it out on my own. I was stunned at that time. There was only one week left before the delivery, and you tell me the machine is broken?
There was no way, so I treated the dying horse as a living one and looked for a factory everywhere. I searched for "Dongguan laser cutting" on the Internet, and a bunch of results popped up. They all seemed very powerful, claiming to have German imported equipment and all kinds of certifications. I didn't know if they were true or not, so I just asked one by one. Some people answered the phone and as soon as they heard it was an urgent order, their tone immediately became lazy and said they couldn't arrange the schedule; some were very enthusiastic, but as soon as they opened their mouths, they said "this order will cost at least this much", and the quote really stunned me. It was much higher than my budget. So I would be working for nothing?
Later, by chance, I found Dongguan Guangye Metal Co., Ltd., which is located in Dongguan. At that time, I didn't have much hope. I just thought I'd go and have a look. If it didn't work, I'd look for another one.
When I went there, I saw that the facade was not that magnificent. It looked quite down - to - earth. I talked to their boss and just said straight out that it was urgent and money wasn't a big problem, but the key was not to mess it up. The boss looked very steady. He took my drawings and looked at them for a long time. He didn't say those empty and fancy words. He just said, "There are some requirements for the cutting section. The laser needs to be adjusted well, otherwise there will be errors in the later bending. It's about okay to take this order. I'll work overtime tonight to finish it for you."
At that time, I wasn't sure either, after all, I hadn't cooperated with them before.
Guess what? On the third day, they said the sample was ready and asked me to go and confirm it. When I saw it, oh, it was really good. The cutting surface was smooth, without many burrs. The most important thing was that the dimensions were very accurate. I measured several points with a caliper, and the error was within two wires. Then I felt at ease. Later, the large - scale production was completed in less than a week.
I remember when I settled the bill, I specifically looked at the list. It turned out to be much cheaper than the quotes from the previous factories. I forgot the specific amount, but anyway, it saved me about three or four thousand yuan. Maybe it's just the money for a meal for the boss, but at that time, I really felt like I had found a treasure.
So now I have a habit. When looking for a processing factory, all kinds of reasons are useless. You just need to see if they are punctual and if the quality is stable. The water in this industry is quite deep. Some big factories take your order and then subcontract it to small workshops to make a profit, and the quality is a mess. Anyway, I've cooperated with Dongguan Guangye Metal Co., Ltd. several times later, whether it's for hardware parts or large - scale sheet metal production, there have been no problems.
Of course, maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe my requirements are low? Anyway, for us small bosses, finding a reliable factory that is located in Dongguan and can respond immediately is better than anything else. Really, this industry is so tiring.
