Mold shelf, also known as drawer shelf or mold rack, is a professional storage equipment dedicated to storing various types of molds such as plastic molds, hardware molds, die-casting molds, etc. It is widely used in manufacturing scenarios such as mechanical manufacturing, electronic appliances, automotive production, aerospace, and injection molding workshops. It can effectively improve mold management efficiency, reduce land occupation, and lower the risk of mold damage.
1、 Basic structure and working principle
The mold rack is mainly composed of the following core components:
Column piece: As the main load-bearing frame, it is usually made of Q235 strip steel or 10 # channel steel rolled, which has high strength and stability.
Guide groove and slide rail: installed on the column, with built-in bearing structure, supporting smooth sliding of the drawer layer, low resistance, and easy operation.
Drawer tray (drawer layer): It is composed of a rectangular tube welded frame and steel plates laid on it. The bottom is equipped with rollers or bearings, which can be easily pulled along the guide groove for easy access to the mold.
Beam and tie rod: Connect the columns to enhance overall structural stability, and a top plate can be added at the top for additional storage.
Safety device: equipped with positioning pins, limit pins, anti tipping system, and double locking interlock mechanism to ensure that the drawer will not accidentally slip when pulled out, ensuring safe operation.
Some models can be equipped with manual or electric hoist trucks (overhead cranes) at the top, which can be used in conjunction with overhead rails to achieve mold lifting operations, especially suitable for factories without crane equipment.
2、 Classification and carrying capacity
According to usage requirements and load-bearing capacity, mold racks are mainly divided into the following categories:
Classified by carrying capacity
Lightweight mold rack: Single layer load-bearing capacity of 200-800kg, suitable for storage of small and medium-sized molds.
Heavy duty mold rack: Single layer load-bearing capacity of 800-1500kg or even higher, some customized models can reach 2000-3000kg, suitable for large and heavy molds.
Classify by drawer opening method
Semi open mold rack: The drawer can be pulled out by about 65%, saving space and suitable for workshops with narrow passages.
Fully open mold rack: The drawer can be fully pulled out 100%, making it easy to retrieve molds up and down, but it takes up a lot of space.
Classified by functional extensions
Standard mold frame: Basic model, simple structure, easy to disassemble and transport.
Vehicle model mold frame with sky rail: integrates sky rail and hoist crane to improve lifting efficiency.
Adjustable mold rack: The height and width can be adjusted to accommodate different mold sizes.

✅ There are various surface treatments, including spray painting, spray painting, hot-dip galvanizing, etc. Among them, spray painting has strong anti-corrosion properties and beautiful appearance.

Steel Mold Storage Racking
Mould Storage Racks is mainly used for storage of all kinds of mould, which could be assembled with manual movable carriage on the top so as to easily take and retrieve the goods. The side rack was equipped with idler wheel rail on the bottom and the sliding shelf panel could be freely pulled out when loading. The middle type slide rack could carry less than 800KG/Drawer, and the heavy type slide rack could load more than 1000 KG/Drawer. The entire rack is section combination structure, which is convenient for transport, and the assembly is simple and fast and this rack possesses better safety protection device. Special drawer type mold rack can be ordered.
