The ACS 1000 is a three-phase frequency converter used for squirrel-cage induction motors. It adopts the mature microprocessor control technology
to monitor the electromagnetic state of the motor. With the direct torque control technology (DTC), these data can achieve excellent sensorless motor control. After adding a pulse encoder feedback, it can be applied to precise speed control,
or applications that operate in the near-zero speed region for a long time.
The output voltage of the ACS 1000 frequency converter is close to a sine wave. It can be conveniently used with the currently used standard induction
motors without derating, so it is an ideal choice for retrofit projects.
Fuse-free design
The ACS 1000 is a medium-voltage frequency converter without fuse protection. This patented design uses a new type of power semi-conductor
switching element, the IGCT, as the circuit protection.
The IGCT placed between the DC circuit and the rectifier bridge is different from traditional fuses. It can directly and quickly isolate the inverter part from the rectifier part within 25 microseconds.
Its speed is 1000 times that of fuses.
The hardware and software protection features of the ACS 1000 frequency converter can effectively protect the frequency converter from faults and damages caused by abnormal
operations and equipment malfunctions.
Control equipment
The ACS 1000 frequency converter has advanced local and remote control features. The control equipment is integrated inside the frequency converter cabinet
and provides full digital and microprocessor technology based on process control, protection, and monitoring functions, providing a backup for the hardware protection circuit.
The CDP 312 control panel is the basic user interface. Users can monitor, modify parameters, and control the operation of the ACS
1000 frequency converter through it.
