Unidirectional tensile plastic geogrid is made by extruding high molecular weight polymers into thin sheets, punching regular mesh holes, and then longitudinally stretching them. During this process, the polymer is oriented in a linear state and forms a uniformly distributed, highly dot strong, elongated elliptical network like overall structure. This structure has a relatively high tensile strength and modulus, providing the soil with an ideal chain system for bearing and diffusing forces.
