The rotary feeder, also known as the rotary valve, lock hopper, star type feeder, etc., is composed of a rotor with several blades, a housing, sealing components, a reducer, and an electric motor. When the material in the upper silo falls by its own weight and fills the gaps in the rotor blades, it rotates along with the blades to the lower outlet and is discharged. It can provide continuous feeding and discharging.

The rotary feeder can play the role of closing the valve and locking the air in the pneumatic conveying system. Due to the low-speed rotation of the impeller and the extremely small gap between the rotor and the inner cavity of the housing, it effectively prevents the flow of gas and ensures the stability of the system pressure and the normal discharge of the materials. Therefore, it is an important component of the high-pressure gas conveying system for materials in the network state. In the material collection system, the rotary feeder serves as the discharger of the silo and is particularly suitable for separating and discharging the materials during positive and negative suction transportation of powder and small particle materials.
