CBPS-D16 Servo Camera Counter Overview

The CBPS-D16 represents a revolutionary leap in counting technology, moving beyond the limitations of traditional infrared sensors. For over 20 years, infrared systems struggled with inaccuracies caused by dust and an inability to detect small, stacked, or transparent items like fish oil capsules. Our machine solves these challenges by incorporating a sophisticated counting sensor that combines a linear array CCD camera with a high-speed ARM processor.
This technology, leveraging stable and mature components proven in various industries, delivers a disruptive change to electronic counting. It provides unparalleled accuracy and reliability, ensuring every bottle is filled precisely according to your specifications.

1. Equipment Overview

Infrared sensor counting systems have been used in electronic pill counters for over 20 years. However, they cannot distinguish small pills or detect stacked pills. They are prone to overcounting when pills are dusty and to miscounting when counting transparent fish oil capsules. These are the limitations of this sensor technology, whereas camera-based counting has resolved these issues. Sensors for camera-based counting were initially widely adopted in various photocopiers. Today, this technology is extensively used in many industrial inspection devices and rice sorting machines. Israel’s DATA Company pioneered the application of this technology in electronic pill counters. However, due to the high initial investment costs and the lack of sufficiently optimized supporting software for electronic pill counters, its adoption remained extremely limited. Our company first developed infrared electronic pill counting sensors and control systems in 2011. In 2016, our company developed a counting sensor that combines a line-scan CCD camera with a high-speed ARM processor to replace traditional infrared counting systems—a major technological breakthrough that has revolutionized electronic grain counting machines.

CCD sensors are widely used across various industries, and it is well known that ARM processors are primarily used in the mobile phone industry, with new models and upgrades released annually; Therefore, the product we have developed utilizes stable and mature components throughout the entire process, from signal acquisition to signal processing.

2. Performance Features

2.1 This is a new model featuring a compact, aesthetically pleasing design. Most components are made of aluminum alloy, and the housing is constructed from high-quality 304 stainless steel, meeting GMP requirements. This design ensures the machine is lightweight and easy to transport.

2.2 It utilizes channel vibration for uniform material discharge, ensuring reliable and smooth operation with low noise levels;

2.3 It employs vision-based counting for automatic counting, ensuring high accuracy with bottling errors below national standards;

2.4 Operation is simple, and disassembly, cleaning, and component replacement are straightforward and convenient;

2.5 The machine’s main drive components are housed within the enclosure, preventing contamination of the product caused by wear in the drive mechanism. All parts in contact with the product have undergone high-precision polishing. The machine is equipped with a dust collection box to minimize dust contamination.

2.6 All system control components hold international standard certifications and have undergone rigorous acceptance testing to ensure the reliability of all functions.

2.7 All 16 channels utilize three-stage vibratory feeding, incorporating advanced foreign technology with spring-combined vibration modules to ensure a more uniform and smooth feeding motion;

2.8 Material recognition employs a combination of line-scan CCD cameras and high-speed ARM processors, offering high resolution and precise identification. The system is dust-resistant and features a self-diagnostic system capable of detecting and rejecting debris, further ensuring counting accuracy.

2.9 The feed nozzle securely grips the bottle mouth, ensuring that large tablets do not get stuck during filling and small tablets do not fall out. The vibrating mechanism of the discharge nozzle ensures smooth discharge, resolves bottle-mouth blockages, and further guarantees counting accuracy. The system is equipped with multiple safety features, including automatic shutdown for empty bottle or bottle jam detection, automatic restart upon resolution, and a rejection mechanism.

3.0 The CCD counting system features automatic backlight adjustment and strong dust resistance, ensuring counting accuracy even for uncoated tablets with high dust content. This enables continuous, reliable counting operations over extended periods.

The entire machine operates reliably, and switching between drug specifications is simple and convenient. The control system can store working parameters for various pharmaceuticals, and the user-friendly, intuitive interface allows general operators to master the system with ease.

3. Main Applications and Scope of Use

This equipment is primarily suitable for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries. It is a mechatronic tablet counting and filling machine designed for the accurate counting and filling of tablet, pill, and capsule products. By automating the counting and filling processes, it significantly improves labor productivity and eliminates the risk of contamination associated with manual counting and filling. This machine can be used independently or integrated into a production line with other auxiliary equipment, such as bottle sorters, bottle cleaners, inserters, capping machines, cap-sealing machines, sealing machines, and labeling machines.

BPS-D16 High-Speed ARM CCD Pill Counter

This equipment utilizes a combination of a linear CCD camera and a high-speed ARM processor, offering high resolution, accurate identification, dust particle protection, and more accurate counting.
In the counting channels, each channel has a gate. When the count reaches a certain number, the gate closes. After a new empty bottle is replaced, the gate immediately opens, waiting for the medicine to fall into the new empty bottle.
