Refractory Lining
Metal Hex grid is also known as hex metal, hex metal grating, hex steel mesh, Hex steel grill or hex steel grid. Metal Hex grid provides surface framework for reinforcement of the refractory or concrete material in linings. They are made of pressed strips riveted to each other to form the hexagonal apertures.
As refractories, hex steel mesh’s characteristics are flexibility, high strength, and erosion resistance. Hex mesh is excellent for refractory linings in furnaces, reactors, cyclones, ducts, and flues.
Hex steel is put to use in many industries including power plants, chemical industry, cement plants, steel, petroleum, power generation, and other large devices. Hex material can largely improve the heat erosion and abrasion resistance.

Hex metal refractory lining is a hexagonal cellular mesh grating specifically designed for reinforcing both linings and flooring. The hex steel mesh acts as a surface framework to hold cement or refractory in position, and relieves stress in the lining's upper crust, which prevents spalling and cracking. As a result of hex metal's strength and unique design, abrasion and corrosion are retarded and refractory life is significantly extended. Even hot gaseous substances cannot erode the refractory because they are reflected away from the surface by the metal cellular grid.

The main style of Hex Mesh
Hexsteel: Bonding Hole Type
Instead of lance tabs, holes are punched through the walls of the hexmetal cell. Refractory can then flow through these holes to achieve a bond from one cell to another.
Hex-metal: Pronges/Lances Type
This style has lance tabs protruding from the walls of the hexagonal cell to act as anchorage for the refractory.
Tortoise Shell Mesh used for large-scale petrochemical plant, steel mill boiler especially conducive to high-temperature catalyst-based device structures lining the main equipment of one of the main parts, which can improve lining wear resistance and strength, wear-resistant linings are used Tortoise Shell Mesh reinforcement, the general area of carbon steel (A3F) shells network, such as the reactor and a secondary cyclone, U-tube regenerator flue, etc., high temperature alloy parts (1Cr13) shells network, such as the regenerator and a, two cyclones, etc...
