Characteristic

1. At room   temperature, molybdenum mesh is stable in both air and water, and does not   react with hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, dilute nitric acid, or   alkaline solutions.

2. When used in a   vacuum environment, uncoated molybdenum has an extremely long service life.   Molybdenum is completely stable in pure hydrogen, argon, and helium, and does   not undergo a chemical reaction with hydrogen until it reaches its melting   temperature. However, when molybdenum is heated in hydrogen, it can absorb a   portion of the hydrogen to form a solid solution (e.g., at 1000 ℃, 100 grams   of molybdenum metal can dissolve 0.5 cm³ of hydrogen). The application of   molybdenum mesh in various electric furnaces fully demonstrates this   characteristic.

3. When the   temperature exceeds 1500 ℃, molybdenum mesh reacts chemically with nitrogen   to form nitrides. If the nitrogen pressure is extremely low (approximately   0.01 mmHg), no obvious reaction occurs even at 2400 ℃.

4. Molybdenum   mesh still exhibits excellent performance in carbon dioxide, ammonia, and   nitrogen at temperatures up to approximately 1100 ℃. At higher temperatures,   nitride films may form on the surface of molybdenum mesh in ammonia and   nitrogen environments.

5. When the   temperature is above 1100 ℃, molybdenum mesh can be carbonized by   carbon-containing gases such as hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide.

Molybdenum mesh   is widely used in the following fields: support mesh for sintering   neodymium-iron-boron in vacuum high-temperature furnaces, connecting   components in corrosion-resistant production, structural components operating   in high-temperature environments, heating elements, integrated circuits, gas   filtration, aerospace, and military industries.
