Core Product Characteristics

1. Niobium is a gray-white metal with a melting   point of 2468 , a boiling point of 4742 , and a density of   8.57 g/cm³. It has a glossy gray appearance, exhibits paramagnetism, and   belongs to Group 5 of the periodic table. High-purity niobium metal has   excellent ductility, but its hardness increases with rising impurity content.   The electron configuration of its outermost electron layer is significantly   different from that of other Group 5 elements—a phenomenon also found in the   adjacent elements ruthenium (atomic number 44), rhodium (45), and palladium   (46).

2. Niobium shows superconducting properties at low   temperatures. At standard atmospheric pressure, its critical temperature is   9.2K, the highest among all elemental superconductors. In addition, its   magnetic penetration depth is also the greatest among all elements. Niobium   is one of the three elemental Type II superconductors, with the other two   being vanadium and technetium. Notably, the purity of niobium metal has a   significant impact on its superconducting performance.

3. Furthermore, niobium has a low thermal neutron   capture cross-section, making it highly valuable in the nuclear industry.

Main Application Fields

1. Tantalum-niobium mesh can withstand high   temperatures and has good strength and rigidity, serving as a high-quality   material for manufacturing heating components, insulation components, and loading   vessels in vacuum high-temperature furnaces.

2. In the aerospace industry, tantalum mesh and   niobium mesh are used to produce engine components for aerospace aircraft,   rockets, submarines, and other equipment—such as combustion chambers,   combustion mesh ducts, and turbopumps.

3. Tantalum wire mesh and niobium wire mesh are   premium aerospace materials, applied in rocket accelerator nozzles,   spacecraft propulsion systems, nozzle valves, and related components.

4. Niobium-tantalum mesh can be used to manufacture   capacitors and linings for armor-piercing bullets.

5. With a small neutron capture cross-section, high   thermal conductivity, and excellent strength, niobium mesh is employed as a   nuclear fuel cladding material, a nuclear fuel alloy additive, and a heat   exchanger structural material in atomic reactors.
