An Inclined Screen Separator, also known as a Slope Screen, is an essential mechanical system used for solid-liquid separation, primarily in the treatment of animal manure. It is designed to efficiently dewater slurry from farms, such as pig and cattle waste, transforming it into manageable fractions.
The operational principle is straightforward yet effective. The manure slurry is pumped onto the higher end of a vibrating inclined screen panel, typically made of stainless steel. As the mixture travels down the slope, gravity and vibration work together. Free water and fine particles pass through the screen apertures, collecting as a clarified liquid effluent underneath. The retained solid particles, now dewatered, are conveyed to the discharge end.
This process offers significant benefits. It reduces the volume and odor of raw manure, facilitating easier storage, transport, and disposal of the solid fraction, which can be repurposed as valuable bedding or compost. Simultaneously, the separated liquid is significantly reduced in pollutant load, making it more suitable for subsequent treatment, irrigation, or safe discharge. This technology is key to modern, environmentally sustainable livestock farming.
