PC/ABS, Polycarbonate and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers and mixtures are thermoplastic plastics made of polycarbonate and polyacrylonitrile (ABS) alloys, combining the excellent properties of the two materials. The formability of ABS material and the mechanical properties of PC, impact strength and temperature resistance, ultraviolet (UV) resistance, can be widely used in automotive interior parts, business machines, communication equipment, household appliances and lighting equipment.
Injection molding process conditions
Drying treatment: It must be dried before processing. The humidity should be less than 0.04%, and the recommended drying condition is 90 to 110C for 2 to 4 hours.
Injection speed: As high as possible.
Chemical and physical properties: PC/ABS has the combined characteristics of both PC and ABS. For example, the easy machining characteristics of ABS and the excellent mechanical characteristics and thermal stability of PC. The ratio of the two will affect the thermal stability of PC/ABS materials. The PC/ABS hybrid also shows excellent flow characteristics. The shrinkage rate is about 0.5%.

PC/ABS is a modified engineering plastic synthesized by mixing. Among them, PC is polycarbonate, ABS is acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B) and styrene (S) copolymer. This modified plastic has higher performance than pure PC and ABS, such as: higher impact resistance, higher heat resistance, higher hardness and so on. ABS plastic

Application area
First, the application on the car
(1) Automotive interior parts PC/ABS alloy is the most suitable material for automotive interior parts. This is because PC/ABS alloy has excellent heat resistance, impact resistance and rigidity, and good processing flow. It is also an ideal material for making car dashboards. The thermal deformation temperature of PC/ABS alloy is 110 ° C ~ 135 ° C, which can fully meet the heat requirements of cars parked outdoors at noon in hot summer in tropical countries. PC/ABS alloy has good finishing properties and adhesion to the covering film, so the instrument panel made of PC/ABS alloy does not need surface pretreatment, and can be directly sprayed with soft topcoat or coated with PVC film.
PC/ABS alloy is also used to manufacture automotive components around the instrument panel, antifreeze panels, door handles, shade plates, brackets, steering column jackets, decorative panels, air conditioning system accessories and other automotive parts.
(2) Automotive exterior parts PC/PBT alloy and PC/PET alloy both have the high heat resistance and high impact of PC, and have the chemical resistance, wear resistance and molding processability of PBT and PET, so they are ideal materials for manufacturing automotive exterior parts. PC/PBT car bumper can withstand low temperature impact below -30℃, and the bumper fracture is ductile fracture without debris. Elastomer toughened PC/PBT alloy and PC/PET alloy are more suitable for making car body panels, car side guards, fenders, car door frames, etc. High heat resistant PC/PBT alloy and PC/PET alloy injection molded outer parts can be painted without painting. PC/PET alloys can be used to make automobile exhaust ports and license plates.
PC/ABS alloy can also be made of automotive exterior parts, such as car wheel covers, mirror shells, tail lamp covers, etc. PC/ABS has good formability and can process large automotive parts, such as car fenders.
