Molding temperature: 300-330℃. PPS is a sulfur-containing aromatic polymer. Linear PPS is thermoset after crosslinking above 350℃, and branched chain PPS is thermoplastic. PPS is the first industrial production of the United States Philip company in 1971, after the expiration of the patent, Japanese enterprises also began to develop and produce. Japanese enterprises are more typical of Japan's Toray company, at this stage, Japan's output has been greater than that of the United States. Other manufacturers are also mainly concentrated in the United States and Japan, and Western European countries now do not produce PPS. [3]
PPS Chinese name is polyphenylene sulfide. It has the advantages of hard and brittle, high crystallinity, flame resistance, good thermal stability, high mechanical strength, excellent electrical properties, and strong chemical corrosion resistance. PPS is one of the best varieties of heat resistance in the engineering plastic department, and the thermal deformation temperature of the material modified by glass fiber is generally greater than 260 degrees, and the chemical resistance is second only to polytetrafluoroethylene. In addition, it also has a small molding shrinkage, low water absorption, good fire resistance. Good resistance to vibration fatigue, strong resistance to arc, especially at high temperatures. Excellent electrical insulation in high humidity. However, its disadvantages are large brittleness, poor toughness and low impact strength. After modification, the above shortcomings can be overcome and excellent comprehensive properties can be obtained
Application area
Electronic: TV, computer high voltage components, housing, sockets, terminals, motor starting coils, blades, brush brackets and rotor insulation parts, contact switches, relays, electric irons, hair dryers, lamp holders, heaters, F film, etc.
Automotive industry: suitable for exhaust recirculation valve and water pump impeller, and carburetor, exhaust device, exhaust regulating valve, light reflector, bearing, sensing parts, etc.
Machinery industry: used as bearings, pumps, valves, pistons, precision gears, copiers, cameras, computer parts, catheters, sprayers, fuel injection nozzles, instrument parts, etc.
Chemical field: For the production of acid and alkali resistant valve pipes, pipe fittings, valves, gaskets and submersible pumps or impellers and other corrosion-resistant parts.
