Silicon Nitride-Bonded Silicon Carbide
This high-performance composite ceramic material uses silicon carbide (SiC) as the matrix skeleton, with silicon nitride (Si3N4) formed as the bonding phase through high-temperature nitridation. The structure combines SiC's high thermal conductivity with Si3N4's toughness, creating an erosion-resistant, thermal-shock-stable system. It exhibits exceptional wear resistance and corrosion resistance against molten metals (e.g., aluminum, zinc, copper, magnesium), making it suitable for direct contact. Thus, Si3N4-SiC tubes offer high corrosion resistance and can operate in high-temperature kilns, diverse atmospheres, or direct immersion in molten liquids—ideal for heater protection sleeves.

Ø Electrical Insulation: High resistivity at room temperature, preventing short circuits.
Ø Rapid Thermal Response: Fast temperature sensitivity.
Application
1. Non-Ferrous Metal Smelting Protection
Ø Silicon carbide rod sleeves: Isolate heating elements (e.g., SiC rods) from molten Al/Zn, extending service life.
Ø Thermocouple protection tubes: Direct immersion in molten metal for temperature measurement.
2. High-Temperature Industrial Components
Ø Radiation tubes: Used in Al/Zn processing kilns, enhancing thermal efficiency by >25%.
