Butt weld flange is a kind of pipe fitting connector with neck and with a round pipe transition structure, which is docked with the pipe by welding, and is mainly used in high-pressure, high-temperature or media-sensitive pipeline systems. Its flared transition neck structure keeps the weld away from the sealing surface, reducing weld deformation and improving sealing performance, and is suitable for pressure classes ranging from PN2.5MPa to PN400 and above [1]. The flange materials include more than 20 kinds of carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloy, etc., and the production process is divided into four categories: forging, casting, cutting and coiling. Forged flanges are often used in high-stress scenarios due to their excellent mechanical properties; Cast flanges are suitable for the production of complex components at low cost. The product needs to go through quality control such as ultrasonic flaw detection and post-weld heat treatment, and comply with many technical specifications such as the Ministry of Chemical Industry (HG/T) and the national standard (GB/T) [2]. The butt weld flange is marked as DN-PN series (such as DN80-PN40) according to the pressure level, and its sealing surface forms include six types such as protruding surface and concave and convex surface, which are sealed with bolt fastening and gasket. It is widely used in valves and pipeline connections in petroleum, chemical, electric power and other industries, especially suitable for transporting flammable and explosive media or working conditions with large temperature fluctuations. Scope of application Butt weld flange is not easy to deform, well sealed, widely used, has corresponding rigidity and elasticity requirements and reasonable butt welding thinning transition, the weld joint is far away from the joint surface, the joint surface is protected from welding temperature deformation, it adopts a more complex cough flared body structure, suitable for pipelines with large fluctuations in pressure or temperature or high-temperature, high-pressure and low-temperature pipelines, generally used for PN greater than 2.5MPa pipelines and valve connections; It is also used to transport expensive, flammable, explosive media pipelines.
