Chemical Properties
A black, porous, odorless substance. Its particle shape ranges from cylindrical, coarse granules to fine powder particles. Particle diameters generally range from 1 to 6 mm, with lengths approximately 0.7 to 4 times the diameter. It can also occur as irregular particles with a 6 to 120 mesh size. It is odorless and tasteless, insoluble in water and organic solvents. Its packing density is approximately 0.3 to 0.6 g/ml, its micropore volume is approximately 0.6 to 0.8 ml/g, and its specific surface area is approximately 500 to 1500 m²/g. It has a strong adsorption capacity for organic polymers and is highly effective in removing trace components, pigments, and odorous substances from liquids. Its optimum pH is 4.0 to 4.8, and its optimal temperature is 60 to 70°C.
Applications
Decolorizer; deodorizer; deodorizer; and purifier in food production. Widely used for decolorization and purification of beverages such as sucrose, glucose, maltose, oils, fruit juice, and wine, as well as for colloidal removal and water treatment. It is listed as a processing aid in GB2760-96. Dosage varies depending on production needs. The typical maintenance time is 30 minutes.

Used for pressure swing adsorption separation of air to produce nitrogen. Primarily used for decolorization, purification, and refining of Chinese and Western raw materials and food additives in the pharmaceutical industry. Suitable for decolorization and deodorization in the brewing industry, edible oil production, and food additive production. It has exceptional decolorization capabilities for high-molecular-weight pigments such as caramel and molasses.

Can be used for desulfurization, water purification, air purification, solvent recovery, adsorption, and as a catalyst carrier. It can be used for removing hydrogen sulfide from coal gas, coke oven gas, natural gas, carbon dioxide, and shift gas.
