Product Description：
The Estane TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) product line includes polyesters,
polyethers and specialty adhesive compounds. The Estane TPU portfolio fills the
gap between flexible rubber and hard plastics.
Lubrizol Estane TPU is a series of linear thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (TPUs)
developed specifically for use as raw materials in solvent-based adhesives for
the automotive, furniture, footwear and other industries. Estane
TPUs are primarily crystalline polymers. Their structure is characterized by
a small proportion of hard segments and a small proportion of soft segments.
It is their polyol components (traditionally called soft segments or amorphous parts)
that crystallize and give them their crystalline properties. The resulting polymers
exhibit exceptionally high toughness and stress-strain properties.
These TPUs have another interesting property: their crystalline regions
have a low melting point (50-60ºC), which allows the polymer to soften or
melt at relatively low temperatures for the bonding process and have sufficient
thermoplasticity and surface tack to ensure proper bonding between different
material substrates.
