In the modern production process, the Siemens 6RA80 series DC speed regulators are widely used in mine hoists, rolling mill drives, winding machine drives, paper industry, and the main drives of printing machines, etc. To expand the capacity of the Siemens 6RA80 DC speed regulators, our company has developed a DC expansion product, providing customers with a low-cost and efficient solution, and winning wide acclaim!

The expansion solution adopts the Siemens 6RA80 small-power all-digital direct current drive speed regulation device. The power unit adopts a three-phase bridge full-controlled bridge rectifier, and the control system uses the original Siemens control board. The pulse triggering uses an isolated amplifier board. The parameters of the power unit are the same as the actual ones, enabling the device to achieve automatic optimization functions, making it convenient for customers to use. This not only fully guarantees the high-performance indicators of the original DC speed regulator but also significantly reduces the equipment investment cost.

1. The RSS80 series all-digital direct current drive products have the following features:

1: The single device output rated armature current: 160A~4000A, rated excitation current: 10A~50A. The output rated armature current of the devices connected in parallel can reach more than 8000A.

2: Input voltage level: 230~1200V.

3: Multiple communication methods, such as PROFIBUS, CAN-BUS, DeviceNet, USS protocol.

4: 2000-4000A adopts the left-right wiring method, facilitating parallel connection.

2. DC expansion components

Control unit:

1. Adopting a small-power Siemens speed regulation device, through the modification of its internal power supply, detection circuit, protection circuit, trigger unit, excitation power, terminal blocks, etc., and the refreshing of the internal software, it can achieve the performance comparable to the original DC speed regulation device.

Power unit:

2. The power unit uses high-quality thyristors. For DC speed regulators below 850A, module-type thyristors are used, and the heat sink adopts a flat plate structure. For DC speed regulators above 900A, pie-shaped thyristors are used, and the heat sink adopts a profile structure, with the body carrying electricity. The armature circuit of the structure is a three-phase bridge circuit, and the power part of the single-phase operation device is a three-phase full-controlled bridge. For the four-phase operation device, the power part of the two three-phase full-controlled bridges is connected in reverse parallel. The excitation circuit adopts a single-phase semi-controlled bridge circuit.

3. In the heat dissipation environment with harsh conditions, Siemens temperature detection elements are installed to monitor the overheating of the thyristors. When the temperature exceeds the limit, it is fed back to the device to achieve automatic control.

4. Pulse triggering:

To eliminate false triggering, the main circuit adds a pulse amplification unit between the pulse output of the control unit and the thyristor to eliminate pulse interference and the safety of large-power thyristors triggering. In the control unit, the pulse output is fed back to the thyristor.

5. Cooling components:

The cooling method is changed from the traditional top ventilation type to a bottom-blowing ventilation structure composed of a turbine cooling fan, greatly increasing the heat dissipation effect of the thyristors and improving the working efficiency of the thyristors. The cooling part of the power unit is designed as air-cooled, forced air-cooled.
