Raw Materials:
Rock wool panels are primarily made from basalt rock (45–60%) and slag (20–30%), melted at ~1500°C and spun into fibers. Binders (3–10% phenol-formaldehyde resin) and hydrophobic additives (silicone oil, 0.5–2%) are added for cohesion and water resistance.
Key Applications:
Thermal Insulation – Used in walls, roofs, and HVAC systems (λ: 0.030–0.046 W/m·K).
Fireproofing – A1 fire-rated (EN 13501-1), withstands 1000°C+ for 1–4 hours.
Acoustic Control – Reduces noise by 30–50 dB (e.g., studios, factories).
Industrial Uses – Insulates pipes, boilers, and ship compartments.
Standards: Complies with ASTM C612 (US), EN 13162 (EU), and GB/T 25975 (China).
Note: Density (40–250 kg/m³) and thickness (30–200 mm) vary by application.
