When a suitable forward trigger pulse is applied to the gate, the injection of gate current causes the internal PNP and NPN transistors of the thyristor to interact and enter a positive feedback state. At this time, the device turns on rapidly, and current flows from the anode to the cathode. After turning on, as long as the anode current remains above the holding current, the thyristor will stay on even if the gate trigger signal is removed. When the anode current drops below the holding current or a reverse anode voltage is applied, the thyristor returns to the blocking state. Through this mechanism, precise control of the current in the circuit is achieved to meet the operational requirements of different power systems. For example, in high-voltage direct current transmission systems, efficient transmission and conversion of direct current are realized by precisely controlling the turn-on and turn-off of 5SHY35L4522.
