  • CORROSION RESISTANCE Alloy 2205 is renowned for its excellent resistance to chloride-induced pitting and stress corrosion cracking.

    ELEVATED TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code sets an upper temperature limit of 600°F (315°C). Prolonged exposure to temperatures above this can lead to embrittlement.

    MECHANICAL PROPERTIES Alloy 2205 offers more than double the strength of conventional austenitic stainless steels in its annealed state. It can also be supplied in a cold-worked condition with a yield strength exceeding 160 ksi, maintaining impressive toughness even at temperatures as low as -50°F (-10°C).

    WORKABILITY Alloy 2205 can be cold formed, though its high work-hardening rate may necessitate intermediate anneals. Post hot or cold forming, annealing is recommended to achieve optimal stress corrosion resistance.
