The AS 1530.3 standard is mainly used to evaluate the flammability, flame spread, heat release and smoke density performance of building materials. The products involved can be referenced as follows.
AS 1530.3 fire tests apply to a variety of building materials and components, mainly including the following categories:
ŸBuilding decoration materials: such as wall coverings and wall cloths, which are used to decorate and protect walls. Test their flame spread and burning characteristics in fire to ensure that they can prevent the spread of fire to a certain extent when a fire occurs.
ŸTextiles: such as curtains and carpets. Curtains are widely used in buildings, and carpets are often used in public places or certain areas of residences. Testing and evaluating the fire resistance of these textiles under the action of fire sources helps to ensure the safety of people and property.
ŸPanels: Includes various panels used for building structures or decorations, such as wall panels, roof panels, floors, etc. These panels are an important part of the building, and their fire resistance is directly related to the safety of the building in a fire. This test can evaluate the ignitability, flame propagation speed, heat release, and smoke generation of the panels.
Soft covering materials: For example, some soft materials used to wrap or cover building components, test their fire resistance under fire conditions to determine whether they meet the requirements of building regulations.
AS1530.3 Australian Standard - Sample Requirements
Before testing, all samples must be left to stand at a temperature of 20±2℃ and a relative humidity of 65±5% until constant weight is reached.
9 samples with dimensions of 600±5mm×450±5mm×normal thickness must be provided.
