The 3300 XL 50mm sensor system consists of a separate 50mm probe, an extension cable, and a 3300 XL 50mm preamplifier sensor. The large diameter coil results in a maximum linear range of 27.9 millimeters (1100 mils) for the system, which is the longest linear range in our eddy current sensor series. This linear range makes the 3300 XL 50 mm sensor system an ideal choice for measuring differential expansion (DE) or rotor expansion (RX) of large steam turbine generators, which is caused by the difference in growth rate between the turbine rotor and the machine stator (housing). |
