ayon, also called viscose and commercialised in some countries as sabra silk or cactus silk, is a semi-synthetic fiber, made from natural sources of regenerated cellulose, such as wood and related agricultural products. It has the same molecular structure as cellulose.

Many types and grades of viscose fibers and films exist. Some imitate the feel and texture of natural fibers such as silk, wool, cotton, and linen. The types that resemble silk are often called artificial silk. It can be woven or knit to make textiles for clothing and other purposes.

Rayon production involves solubilizing cellulose to allow turning the fibers into required form. Three common solubilization methods are:

The cuprammonium process (not in use today), using ammoniacal solutions of copper salts

The viscose process, the most common today,using alkali and carbon disulfide

The Lyocell process, using amine oxide, which avoids producing neurotoxic carbon disulfide but is more expensive[

Rayon is produced by dissolving cellulose, then converting this solution back to insoluble fibrous cellulose. Various processes have been developed for this regeneration. The most common methods for creating rayon are the cuprammonium method, the viscose method, and the lyocell process. The first two methods have been practiced for more than a century.

                       What is TR fabric? Or we may say what does it mean?

T stands for Polyester and R refers to Rayon. It’s a fabric made with polyester/rayon blend yarn. This is the general meaning of TR fabric.

TR fabric combines the best qualities of polyester and rayon, offering exceptional durability, breathability, and a smooth finish. This versatile textile is ideal for a wide range of applications, including apparel, upholstery, and industrial uses. It is a huge name and it contains many different kinds. Yarn dyed or solid, with width spandex or 4 ways stretch (weft side and warp side both have spandex), twill surface or jacquard patterns, plain or brushed, or even 2 sides brush, etc…

What is the composition?

In fabric content, usually we put the big part content ahead. So for TR fabric, normally the composition is 65% polyester 35% rayon or 80% polyester 20% rayon. And 65% polyester 33%rayon 2%spandex for the TR with stretch. But It can be highly customized in request composition, weight, surface effect, and hand feel.
