ABB DSSR 170 48990001-PC Power Supply Unit For DC-Input

DSSR 170 is used in systems with redundant power converters. The redundancy is obtained byinstalling one extra regulator unit, in addition to the normal requirement to give (n+l)redundancy.

Standard configuration is one DSSS 17l and three DSSR 170. The DSSS 171 ismounted in the leftmost position on the power bus plane DSBB 188.

The regulators are pluggedinto the remaining slots on DSBB 188, where one of them must be plugged into the rightmostposition. The power bus plane DSBB 188 is mounted on the rear of the l/0 subrack.

You can exchange a voltage regulator unit DSSR 170 in a live system with (n+l) redundancywithout disturbing the system operation.

When replacing a regulator, you must place a new unitin the same position as the one which it replaces. The upper fixing screw has a switchingfunction: tighten it to start the regulator.

The DSSR 170 is supervised by a internal discriminator, “WATCH”, which:Blocks the regulator at undervoltage (<+16 V),Signals function fault REGFAlL-N and Indicates function status (IVE with gren LED, FAlL with rd LED).

The output voltage and the maximum load current are set by a control circuit, “REG CTRL”.
