The Hongwei-40 tractor equipped with a triangular half track walking device. This walking device is designed by the Guangdong Agricultural Machinery Research Institute and is specifically designed for use with the Hongwei-40 tractor. With this device, the front wheels of the tractor are still retained, only the rear wheels are removed and replaced with this set of toothed straight triangular track plates. A half track tractor walking device has been developed to address the problems of poor climbing ability and low operating efficiency of wheeled tractors in hilly areas during field operations. The device mainly consists of walking brackets, deceleration mechanisms, track drive wheels, guide wheels, several support wheels, rubber belts, and tension wheel mechanisms. It has good adaptability to mountainous areas with certain slopes and is not easy to slip. Field driving performance tests have shown that the relative error between the front wheel linear velocity of the tractor and the linear velocity of the track drive wheels is controlled within, which meets the performance requirements of power machinery in field operations.
