Concrete Steel Nails are divided into the following categories: electro-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized nails, and acid-resistant, stainless steel and copper nails.
Straight grooved concrete nails with special materials and various sizes, concrete nails are specialty nails compared with common iron nails. It is harder, the shank is short and thick commonly and it has excellent piecing and fixing strength.
Concrete nails are designed to sink into concrete with only a hammer to drive them. They’re made of hardened galvanized steel with a thick shaft and sharp point. It’s best to drive them in with a heavy framing hammer that applies a lot of force. Concrete is hard like a rock and isn’t easy to penetrate even with a nail that’s designed to do it. They aren’t exactly like regular wood nails and won’t go all the way through the concrete. Generally concrete nails only penetrate about 1/4″to 3/4″. But that’s usually enough for a tight hold. Once in, it’s very hard to pull them out.
