What is GB Standard Steel Rail？

GB Standard Steel Rail is a common type of steel rails,which are produced according to GB standard. Usually, GB Standard Steel Rail is mainly made by Material U71Mn, U75V. The Sizes of EN Standard Steel Rail include: 38kg, 43kg, 50kg, 60kg, 75kg, etc. The main length of EN Standard Steel Rail is 6-12 or 12.5-25m.

Types of GB Standard Steel Rail

GB Standard Steel Rail can be divided into crane rails, heavy rails, and light rails according to the kilograms per square meter.

Crane rail: GB standard crane rail is divided into four types: QU120, QU100, QU80, and QU70. The material is generally manganese steel. As for QU120, its weight is up to 118kg/m.

Heavy rails: According to the steel grades used, heavy rail can be classified into ordinary manganese-containing rails, copper-containing carbon steel rails, high-silicon copper-containing steel rails, copper rails, manganese rails, silicon rails, etc. There are three mainly types of heavy rails. Their names are 38KG, 43KG and 50kg railroad steel rail. In addition, there are 45kg rails for a few lines, and 60kg rails are planned for use on lines with high traffic and high speed. GB2585-81 specifies the technical conditions of 38~50kg/m rail in China.

Light rail: Light rial contains many different types, such as 9KG, 12KG, 15KG, 22KG, 30KG etc. The light rail is also divided into two types: GB (GB) and Ministry (MAB Metallurgical Standard). The above refers to several models of GB.

For those rails, 50KG AND 60KG rails are mainly used on the railway line. For the station lines and special lines are generally laid with 43KG rail. For heavy-duty railways and particularly busy section railways, 75kg/m rails are the better choice.
