Character: White freeze-dried powder. The Lysozyme extracted from egg white is a single peptide chain composed of 18 kinds of 129 amino acid residues. It is rich in basic amino acids and has four disulfide bonds to maintain the enzyme configuration. It is an alkaline protein, with lysine at the N end and Leucine at the C end. Egg white Lysozyme is type C, which is the most heat-resistant enzyme known and suitable for pH 5.3~6.4
Purpose: Biochemical research. It is an alkaline enzyme that can hydrolyze mucopolysaccharides in pathogenic bacteria. It is mainly through destroying the β- 1,4 Glycosidic bond, which decomposes insoluble mucopolysaccharides of cell wall into soluble glycopeptides, leading to the escape of the contents of cell wall rupture and the dissolution of bacteria. Lysozyme can also directly combine with negatively charged Viral protein to form double salt with DNA, RNA and apo protein, which inactivates the virus. It can decompose Gram positive bacteria such as Micrococcus solubilicus, Bacillus megaterium, and Staphylococcus aureus.
