Description: White to almost white yellow powder, extracted by Aspergillus niger. Molecular weight: 150KDa (about 80KDa in SDS-PAGE, Isoelectric point 4.6). A Oxidoreductase that oxidizes glucose to form Gluconic acid. The enzyme requires Flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as a coenzyme, and each molecule contains two FADs. Easily soluble in water, completely insoluble in organic solvents such as ether, chloroform, butanol, pyridine, glycerol, ethylene glycol, etc. 50% acetone and 66% methanol can precipitate it. The chemical substances EDTA, KCN and NaF do not affect the enzyme activity, but the enzyme activity is affected by HgCL (Mercury(II) chloride), AgCL (Silver chloride), phenylhydrazine, 4-Chloromercuribenzoic acid, etc

Purpose: Biochemical research. This enzyme affects β- D-glucose exhibits high specificity. Desugarization used in egg processing in the food industry to prevent browning. Used for deoxygenation and extended shelf life in beverages, fruit juices, canned goods, and dried foods. It can also be used in combination with Catalase for food antisepsis and disinfection and grape enzymatic analysis. Used as a urine sugar and blood glucose reagent in medicine.
