In a HART environment, mobiLink reads the main process values from the connected HART device through a 4-20 mA current loop, and also supplies power to the field device through the powered HART loop. Communication through Foundation Fieldbus and PROFIBUS PA protocols uses the same physical layer. In this case, the power supply is handled by the active fieldbus network segment. During the connection handshake, MobiLink checks the fieldbus voltage and polarity. If these are not correct, the connection will not be established.
Communication with the host or tablet is handled through Bluetooth or USB interfaces. All popular FDT framework applications can be integrated, such as Endress+Hauser's FieldCare, Yokogawa Electric's FieldMate for HART and PROFIBUS PA, PACTware, LabVIEW and Honeywell's Field Device Manager. ProComSol is a leading supplier of HART communication solutions, and its optional DevCom (DD) App makes it possible to easily configure on-site devices using Windows, Android, or iOS devices. FF's dedicated driver is used to deploy Yokogawa's FieldMate field device management tool Thanks to IECEx and ATEX certifications (ATmosph è res Exposibles), as well as Ex certifications for Zone 1 and Zone 2, mobiLink is usually also suitable for deployment in explosive hazardous areas. This Ex rating - mobiLink is the only globally certified device of its kind - is an important safety factor, for example, providing reliable and safe testing for field devices used as part of process systems in potentially explosive environments.
