Introduction to PETG:
PETG is a transparent, non-crystalline copolyester. The common comonomer of PETG is 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), which is called polyethylene terephthalate-1,4-cyclo Hexane dimethanol ester. It is a polycondensation product of three monomers of terephthalic acid (PTA), ethylene glycol (EG) and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) by transesterification. Compared with PET, it has more 1,4 -Cyclohexanedimethanol comonomer has more ethylene glycol comonomer than PCT, so the performance of PETG is quite different from PET and PCT. PETG sheet has outstanding toughness and high impact strength, its impact strength is 3~10 times that of modified polyacrylate, and has a wide processing range, high mechanical strength and excellent flexibility, compared with PVC transparency High, good gloss, easy to print and has environmental advantages.
PETG applications:
1. Plate and sheet
It has outstanding toughness and high impact strength, and its impact strength is 3 to 10 times that of modified polyacrylates. It has excellent formability, no whitening and no cracks when cold bending, and is easy to print and decorate. It is widely used indoors and outdoors Signage, storage racks, vending machine panels, furniture, architectural and mechanical baffles, etc.
2. Profiles
It can be formed into pipes or various profiles. The products are hard, transparent, and glossy. They are not whitened under pressure. They are easy to form and post-processing. They meet environmental protection requirements and meet the FDA's food contact standards. They are widely used in architectural decoration and materials. .
3. Cosmetic packaging
PETG has glass-like transparency and density close to glass, good gloss, chemical corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and easy processing, and can be injection molded, injection stretch blow molded and extrusion blow molded.
Can be applied to perfume bottles and caps, cosmetic bottles and caps, lipstick tubes, cosmetic cases, deodorant packaging, talcum powder bottles and eyeliner cases, etc. PETG injection molding products include medical devices such as filters, Eustachian tubes, tube connectors, pumps, clips, and dialysis equipment. Household utensils such as cups, salad bowls, salt shakers, pepper shakers, etc., have excellent transparency, gloss, good toughness, processability and excellent coloring.
