TRICONEX 3006 Invensys uses coaxial cables or fiber optic links

As the name suggests, this is a modulation technique in which the information to be transmitted is directly placed on the optical flow emitted by the light source.

In this method, TRICONEX 3006 simply uses an electrical information signal to directly change the driving current of the light source, i.e. the laser, in order to generate a varying optical power signal. Therefore, it does not require a separate light modulator to modulate the optical signal.

In this modulation technology, the main disadvantage of TRICONEX 3006 is related to the carrier lifetime of spontaneous and Stimulated emission and the photon lifetime of the light source.

When using a laser transmitter to perform direct modulation, the laser switches on and off based on electrical signals or driving currents. However, in this case, the laser linewidth has somehow widened. This broadening of laser linewidth is called chirping. Due to this reason, direct modulation technology is not suitable for data rates above 2.5 Gbps.

In external modulation, TRICONEX 3006 uses a separate light modulator to perform modifications to the optical signal in order to change signal characteristics.

TRICONEX 3006 is mainly used for modulating signals with data rates exceeding 10 Gbps. However, there is no mandatory requirement to use this method only for high data rate signals.
