Ammonium bicarbonate is a white compound with the chemical formula NH4HCO3. It is granular, plate-shaped or columnar crystal and has ammonia odor. Ammonium bicarbonate is a kind of carbonate, so it must not be placed together with the acid, because the acid will react with ammonium bicarbonate to produce carbon dioxide and deteriorate ammonium bicarbonate. However, rural areas also use the property that ammonium bicarbonate can react with acid to put ammonium bicarbonate in vegetable greenhouses, seal the greenhouses, place ammonium bicarbonate high and add dilute hydrochloric acid. At this time, ammonium bicarbonate will react with hydrochloric acid to produce ammonium chloride, water and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide can promote plant photosynthesis and increase vegetable yield, and the generated ammonium chloride can also be used as fertilizer again. The chemical formula of ammonium bicarbonate contains ammonium ion, which is an ammonium salt, and the ammonium salt cannot be placed together with the alkali, so ammonium bicarbonate should not be placed together with sodium hydroxide or calcium @standard-chem.com
Storage method
1. Keep the container sealed and store it in a cool and dry place and in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Never put it together with NaOH or Ca (OH) 2.
2. Pay attention to moisture, rain and sun protection during storage and transportation. Handle with care to prevent package damage.
3. Mixed loading and transportation with oxidants, acids and edible chemicals are strictly prohibited. During transportation, it shall be protected from sun exposure, rain and high temperature.
4. in case of fire, water, spray or dry powder, carbon dioxide and foam extinguishing agent can be used to extinguish fire.
