3500/40 149716-01 Communication Gateway Module provides serial communication

Between the 3500 monitoring system and the factory information system, such as a distributed control system (DCS) or programmable logic controller (PLC). The communication gateway module collects static data from the modules in it, and the rack sends this data to the information system upon request through a high-speed internal network. The communication gateway can communicate with up to six hosts through Ethernet. The host can be based on Modbus protocol or a computer with 3500. Rack configuration and data acquisition software. There is only one communication gateway, and each 3500 rack module can be configured to accept rack configurations or data collection hosts.
